Beached in Northern Michigan
July 24th, 2018
Summer isn’t going anywhere any time soon and neither is the fun. There is still plenty of time to explore Northern Michigan’s beautiful beaches and here is a list of our favorites:
Petoskey State Park:
Located just three miles northeast of Petoskey you will find over 300 acres of trails, paths, campgrounds, and shoreline. Filled with rolling dunes and a beautifully kept public beach, Petoskey State Park has something for every member of the family to enjoy on a hot summer day.
The Foot of Walloon Lake:
Right across the street from the general store in the heart of Walloon Village you’ll find a beach that is never too far away from adventure. With walking distance to Tommy’s boat rental and the Barrel Back you will have a fun-filled day before returning to your comfortable accommodations at Hotel Walloon.
Young State Park:
Just a short drive from Hotel Walloon you will find Young State Park. Every bit of the 563 acres nestled on the beautiful Lake Charlevoix are sure to please. Bike trails, hiking trails, sandy beaches, and rentals for every activity you can think of make this spot a fantastic destination on a hot day.
Fisherman’s Island State Park:
One of the largest in Northern Michigan, Fisherman’s Island State Park has six miles of shoreline in its almost 3,000 acres. Best known for its rustic charm, this is the perfect place to lay back, relax, and enjoy that beautiful Northern Michigan summer.
No matter what you are looking for Northern Michigan has the perfect mixture of relaxation and adventure. Luckily, Hotel Walloon is located in the center of it all.
