Summer Newsletter from the General Manager
We celebrated our one-year anniversary in May and have so many people to thank for our successful first year. I would like take this time to personally say “Thank You”.
Spring was a little slow in arriving to Northern Michigan (let’s not think about it). Now that the boat docks are in, the warmer temperatures are here and the dark red calliope geraniums have been planted on the porch at Hotel Walloon we can officially declare “Summer Season”!
Our Outdoor Movies on our 20-foot screen will entertain all ages. On Wednesday evenings (weather permitting) you can watch movies with friends and family from the lawn in the park or sitting in your boat at the docks. The pop-up shops are in full swing and offer unique shopping for everyone. We have built shuffle board courts across the street from the Barrel Back restaurant and I would love to challenge you to a friendly game.
We are very proud to announce the opening of The Talcott. It is an event center located in the village where you can have a party, reception or meetings. The Talcott is nicely appointed inside and has an outdoor gathering place to complete your event. We love to give tours so please stop by so we can show you the new addition to Hotel Walloon. Later on in this newsletter you will see more information and pictures featuring this great venue. Please click on the following link to view the newsletter: https://spark.adobe.com/page/O7JLY/.
For those of you who visited us this past year we have added new furniture on our outside patio and a new self-serve wine cabinet that offers great wines by the glass. The hotel is anxiously awaiting your return and I’m personally excited to meet each and every one of you.
I look forward to seeing you this summer. We work very hard every day to ensure your stay with us will be perfect. Lately we have been trying to figure out how to make the long beautiful (Northern Michigan) summer days last a little longer. I guess we are just going to have to slow down-relax and just smell the geraniums on the porch of Hotel Walloon.
See you soon,
