Jan is a newly retired English professor who taught Children’s Literature to future teachers and Integrated Reading and Writing to students that were underprepared for college. Prior to this, she taught Creative Writing to at-risk teens with a goal of instilling in them the power of words and story. Jan also worked in publishing as a writer, editor and project manager. Jan’s passions include bringing hope to disenfranchised people and doing something creative every day. She believes in the process of healing through authentic communication and art. She looks at life closely through immersion in nature and openness to adventure.
Class Description
This class will focus on how keeping a journal makes us more intentional about paying attention to the details of life’s: relationships, our reactions and responses, beauty around us in nature, etc.
