This year’s special guest moderator is Valerie Hemingway, author of the 2005 memoir Running with the Bulls: My Years with the Hemingway’s. The weekend retreat will offer an inspiring, intimate, and collaborative setting for writers seeking stimulation and ideas. Tour local attractions on a private tour with the Michigan Hemingway Society President. Receive one-on-one writing guidance from published authors and writing professionals. Enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan’s lakes and rolling scenery all while relaxing in the luxurious accommodations of Hotel Walloon. Package rate is starting at $1,135 per person. Additional guests are $385 per person.

• 9 AM to 4 PM – Writer’s Seminar at Talcott · 5 PM – Retreat Dinner at the historic Walloon Lake Inn
• 7 PM – Public Presentation with Valerie Hemingway at Talcott

Saturday

• 7-9 AM – Breakfast
• 9:30 AM – Writer’s Seminar at Talcott
• 1 PM to 2:30 PM – Caravan Tour around Walloon Lake and Horton Bay lead by the Michigan Hemingway Society
• 3:30 PM – Special Hemingway Dedication
• 4 PM to 5:30 PM – Writer’s Retreat continues at Talcott
• 6 PM – Dinner and exploring the Village on own

Sunday

• 7-9 AM – Breakfast
• 9 AM – Writer’s Retreat closing remarks at Talcott
• 12 PM – Departure and optional hike at the Nick Adams Preserves with the Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy (weather permitting)
