More than a century ago, on the shores of Walloon Lake in Northern Michigan, a charming country inn opened its doors to travelers seeking the beauty of this pristine lake. Originally known as Fern Cottage, the property welcomed visitors from across the region and served as a docking point for steamboats transporting guests to nearby hotels and private cottages.
Renamed Walloon Lake Inn in 1981, the historic property evolved into both a bed and breakfast and a celebrated restaurant. Today, the Inn continues its legacy as one of the most distinctive fine dining destinations in Northern Michigan.
