Barrel Back Restaurant Walloon Lake delivers vibrant Northern Michigan waterfront dining next to Hotel Walloon. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the restaurant pairs bold wood fired cuisine with sweeping views of Walloon Lake in a relaxed, energetic setting.
Inspired by classic Barrel Back boats from the early twentieth century, the design reflects the heritage of Walloon Lake. Glass garage doors open on warm days to create true open air dining, while fresh lake breezes move through the dining room and connect guests to the shoreline. During cooler months, the central fireplace anchors the main dining room and adds warmth and comfort.
The wood fired rotisserie smoker, oven, and grill produce smoked chicken, brisket, and handcrafted pizzas that define Northern Michigan dining. Guests may gather at the expansive bar, enjoy more than 23 beers on tap, or relax on the lakeside patio overlooking Walloon Lake.
